Cooling can be free cooling that utilises groundwater or the cold thermal energy can be generated with a heat pump. If cooling is needed at your company’s property, ask us for more information.
District cooling can be sold to all properties located along our district heating network. Unlike district heating, the district cooling network has been built using insulated plastic pipes. The circulating water is the same water that we use in the district heating network.
District cooling has been used to cool down Lahti City Hall since summer 2023. The district cooling is produced with a combined heating and cooling (CHC) heat pump, the technology of which allows the surplus heat collected from the property to be utilised as part of the production of the district heating network. The district cooling network runs towards the City Hall from Harjukatu, and in the future, it will be possible to expand it to the new block area of Salininkatu, for example.
