Example case: Spa hotel
A spa hotel is a good example of a business property where there is a need to monitor various measurements and communicate quality to the customers. The collected measurement data is used to ensure that staying in the hotel is pleasant but the costs are kept under control when, for example, the ventilation is not set too high. If changes aimed at saving water or energy are made in the hotel, the impact of the changes can be determined from the measurement data.
Alarm limits can also be set for the measurements so that they do not need to be constantly monitored. An alarm is given for measurements outside the limit values and the situation can be addressed.
Spa
A spa is a humid environment and consumes a lot of energy. Therefore, much is required from the structures. A high-quality customer experience is created, among other things, by suitably warm pool water and good air quality. Conditions can also be monitored in the sauna. A visitor counter can be used to monitor the number of customers on different days of the week and at different times of the day. A motion sensor ensures that the facilities are empty at closing time. Info screens show customers, for example, the temperature of the water.
Hotel
Customers are guaranteed a relaxing experience with suitable temperatures, humidity and carbon dioxide levels in the rooms. However, energy is not wasted when the desired conditions are achieved with minimum ventilation. Info screens show guests key figures on the hotel’s conditions in the hotel lobby or on the TVs in the rooms, for example. In the hotel’s kitchen, food safety is ensured by monitoring the temperature in the cold storage facilities and reviewing the measurement history. Even if there is a power cut, the wireless sensor will continue to measure.
